RECENT WORK
Golden State Boulevard Economic Investment Plan,
2016-Present
Decision Point: Three cities along a major corridor south of Fresno (that travels parallel to Highway 99) expected to undertake significant streetscape improvements and needed investment strategies that would support these improvements.
Assignment: New Economics prepared investment strategies for three cities. Each strategy includes economic and real estate profiles, recommendations for best practices, pro forma analysis of targeted opportunity areas, case study research, interviews with local stakeholders, and implementation strategies. This work, funded by the Fresno Council of Governments, was part of a larger design contract led by Mark Thomas, a transportation engineering company.
Outcome: This analysis was used to help the transportation engineer and City representatives identify where along the corridor improvements should be prioritized. Priority areas were those where the most economic development impacts would be generated.
