North State Building Industry Foundation Research Study, 2015-2016

Decision Point: The North State Building Industry Foundation Research Study sought data to better understand the long-term impacts of the residential homebuilding industry on jobs, wages, and city/county revenue streams in the Sacramento region.

Assignment: New Economics conducted the study, which built upon a wide variety of data sources and case study research, estimated annual industry jobs, and analyzed the impact of online shopping and long-term property tax revenues to local jurisdictions.

Outcome: Through this study, New Economics was able to provide the client with a well-documented figure of the number of jobs in the region supported by the homebuilder’s industry. New Economics also provided well-researched information that puts residential and commercial on more of an equal playing field when it comes to understanding the impact to the general fund for local cities and counties.
